About Elisa Koehler

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Elisa Koehler is currently an Associate Professor of Music at Goucher College and the Music Director and Conductor of the Frederick Symphony Orchestra. She earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Orchestral Conducting from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University (Peabody Conservatory) as a student of the late Frederik Prausnitz and as a teaching assistant for Harlan Parker. Also a professional trumpeter and researcher, she maintains an active schedule of appearances and a growing list of publications.
