Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences Article Titles
Notice the strong similarities among titles within disciplines in each domain of study, and the significant differences between titles in differing domains. Notice which kinds of articles are most commonly written collaboratively by teams of researchers, working together, versus the articles written by single researchers whose collaborative working relationships with colleagues stop at the point where the actual analysis and writing begins. Also note the extraordinary specialization of the journals as indicated by their titles. Though undergraduates still take courses in majors called "English" or "Sociology" or "Biology," the course topics even at the 200-level tend to reflect the specializations in which research is actually conducted and the journals in which instructors publish their research (e.g., "Introduction to Medieval Literature," "Women and Work: A Global Perspective," or "Tropical Marine Biology").
