Conference Times for Fall 2014 Advising, English 221 Candidate Interviews, and English 105, 215, and 240 Conferences

Please refresh your browser often and treat the schedule below as a real but dynamic representation of available conference/interview times.  Send me a set of times and days when you could meet so that I can group conferences together.  If your schedule changes, we can accomodate that.  Just keep me informed.  It's OK to swap conferences with someone you know on this list, but let me know if you do that.

If you are meeting me for a major advising conference prior to registration for Fall 2014, please remember to do your homework.  Figure out the courses offered that you must take now, first.  Prioritize them based on their enrollment caps and the order in which the Registrar will let you sign up for courses, putting the highest demand courses highest in your priority list.  As you do so, figure out whether there are day/time conflicts and determine which courses you can best afford to postpone.  If you have a real, serious, won't-graduate-if-I-can't-take'em conflict, contact me immediately.  Don't even wait for the conference.  We can work something out with the department chairs.  If you have openings for interesting but not "must-take-now" courses, set up a list of more than the number of possible courses you need just in case you get closed out of one.  Above all, have a draft of your schedule completely filled out, with days/times and section numbers, with backups for big courses!

If you are meeting with me for a 221 interview, make sure you have checked out the course Web site, and the old syllabus linked to the bottom menu.  The 2014 syllabus may change, but that old one is a good estimate of the work load.

If you are meeting with me for a 105, 215, or 240 conference, please remember to bring a printed copy of your paper, the readings, your notes, and anything else that will help us work thriftily.  Remember also that the Writing Center has more bodies than I do, they're younger and stay awake longer, and they live right near you.  Please give them a chance to help you, too.
