Day 1 Diagnostic Essay: "How do I write?"

        Take the remainder of the class time to tell me how you write.  You can include non-academic writing, but because English 105 is supposed to pay specific attention to your academic prose, please make sure you discuss how you write for college courses.  You can talk about what you do to prepare, what problems you typically have to solve, where you work best and what tools you need, how your writing is used and what readers' responses have been.  Try to give me a sense of what you like and dislike about the process of writing, especially writing for college courses.  How do you hope this class will change your writing, and do you have any specific plans for making that happen?
