The verses of Luke 11: 26-27 begin on the fourth line from the bottom, after the colon up to the left bracket, and are continued on the verso of the leaf linked below: "extollens vocem quaedam mulier de turba dixit illi beatus venter qui te por[tavit et ubera quae suxisti / at ille dixit quippini beati qui audiunt verbum Dei et custodiunt ."  The Latin Vulgate may be translated as "a certain woman from the crowd, lifting up her voice, said to him: Blessed is the womb that bore thee and the paps that gave thee suck. /  But he said: Yea rather, blessed are they who hear the word of God and keep it."  The image is reproduced by the kind permission of its owner, Corey Wronski (Goucher 2002).  To see the "verso" or back of the leaf, where the woman's shout is answered by Jesus and by the worshipers with the "Ave Maria" praising Mary, click here.
