Self-Regulation

        A structural system is self-regulating because all transformations of its rules must themselves follow the system's rules.  That is, there are rules even for rule breaking, including artfully conscious and artlessly unconscious means.  By means of those rules, innovations are constantly being reincorporated into the system.
