Geoffrey Chaucer / Chausseur / Shoe

        Chaucer's "cradle tongue" probably was French (think 1066).  His family name strongly suggests both French origins and a link to the trade of shoemaking.  This men's shoe store in Paris (2003) managed to make me think of two awful bilingual puns that made the place very special to Geoff.
