Conclusions About This Unit - If students have worked hard to apply these problem solving strategies, they should feel more secure with all math problems. Students who participate in mathematical competitions will find these exercises to be good practice for trying out their skills. Problem-solving is a difficult skill and requires a great deal of patience and task-commitment. Team work should be encouraged to help develop a student's confidence level.

Rubrics - The scoring rubric is divided into five sections: Correct Answer, Problem Understanding, Strategy, Communication, and Reasonable Result. Each section has a total of four possible points, so the entire problem can be evaluated for 20 points. Students should be encouraged to use the rubric to help with solving the problems. The rubric can be printed to share with students or can be attached to the student's answer sheet for evaluation purposes.
