REAL LIFE APPLICATIONS - Independent Problem Solving
Throughout this unit, you learned about many types of problem-solving strategies. You worked by yourself, with partners, and even in small groups. The Internet was used as a resource for gaining information and you've used your decision-making and brainstorming skills on a regular basis. Now, you get to apply all you've learned.
Choose three of the problems listed below to investigate. Read the description about the problem and visit the problem page. You will be given background information about your investigation and a mathematical problem to solve. Be sure to print the problem page because it may have websites to visit and important criteria for solving your problem. You can keep track of your progress and record your responses on the page you print.
So, get your pencil and a calculator and get started. Good luck!
