How to Contact Us

How do I contact you?

There are a number of ways to make an appointment at the Writing Center - and then there are also a lot of ways to use the Writing Center.  We'll start with the simple things first.

You can call us any time.  Our extension is 6551, and we have voice mail that we check every day.  Leave a message if we're not in.  Additionally, you can call any of our tutors individually at any time (well, almost any time).  Our extensions are posted on the front door.

You can email any of us individually.  Our email addresses are also posted on the front door.

You can stop in during our business hours to make an appointment, or to get help right away.  People with appointments have first priority, so it's usually a good idea to make an appointment if you have time.

Once I'm there, what do I do?

Anything, really.  Some of us find that it works best if you have a hard copy of your writing, but at other times it's easier to do your editing right on the computer.  We can look at a finished paper or a paper that's just being started.  We can help with your grammar or help with your structure.  Most of us have experience with creative writing, and we're always happy to look at stories or poems written for workshops.  We've got ample space to sit, spread out, and mark up your paper.  We also have a number of resources in our library, including the current MLA Handbook.
