Students may choose to do an additional revision to one paper to raise its grade. This revision will be due on May 1.
Attendance Is extremely important. More than four absences will lower a students grade. A students who is absent is still responsible for work covered and should contact a classmate to review what he/she missed.
Class Participation Students should come to class prepared to discuss assigned work. At any time I may call on you.
Paper Policies Rough drafts and final drafts must be handed in on time. Rough drafts handed in after the due dates may not be read. Late final copies will be penalized one grade (ex: B- to C+) for each day of lateness. Students should save all notes on secondary sources. I will review them during conferences and may request them when evaluating papers.
Peer Revision Groups These groups, along with myself, give feedback on first drafts. STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR E-MAILING OR IN SOME OTHER RELIABLE FASHION GETTING PAPERS TO GROUP MEMBERS BY 7PM OF THE EVENING BEFORE GROUPS MEET.
Conferences During the weeks of February 27 and April 24 classes will be canceled so that I can hold a twenty-minute conference with each student. These conferences are a class requirement and should be rescheduled only in an emergency.
